I Love London • Pippa Marie

Hello lovelies, so a lot has changed recently - thanks for sticking around for so long if you are still reading this. I just wanted to post a little bit of an update/ what i'm up to now kind of thing!

So my inspiration for writing this comes from my trip to London a few weeks back, if you didn't know I am now living up north in the Lake District, which don't get me wrong, is truly beautiful! But one thing it does not have is the amazing hustle and bustle of city living.

The worlds are just so far away it's incredible - and I love them both! It made me realise that I do eventually want to experience that kind of life again, but I do really want to make the most of living up here for the moment and sharing everything with you guys! Because there aren't that many bloggers/vloggers that live in the middle of nowhere lets be honest! haha
So I have some great ideas for more exciting things and I really am going to make the most of it while I am here! So from city life to country life... lets go!

Much Love xoxo

DIY: Ripped Jeans

Hello lovelies, just a quick post today that I thought i'd share with you. I'm really into my DIY's at the moment and this one is the easiest one ever!

Recently my friend bought some topshop jeans in the sale, with the ripped knees, which everyone seems to be wearing at the moment. But I didn't really feel like spending 30 odd pounds on a pair of jeans from Topshop. I did find some cheaper ones online but then I never like buying jeans online, I really wanted a pair but I was a bit stuck, until it occurred to me. Something as simple as a rip in the knees is ridiculously easy to do, why are we paying so much for it?

So heres what I did-

You will need:

  • A pair of plain jeans (Old or new)
  • A pen
  • A pair of scissors

I got my jeans from Primark for only 7 pounds and after doing this they are now my favourite pair!
So I sat down with my jeans on so the jeans were quite stretched out, and drew on them with a normal pen (I wouldn't recommend using sharpie as the line will be too thick and might stain). I drew about a 4cm line on each knee right in the centre of my knee cap. This is the important bit, to look in the mirror and check they are even before you cut, I got my friend to double check too, just to be safe. You might think the line you have drawn is too short and you want a longer slit than that, well I did in the knowledge that they will rip a bit more once I wear them and it will look more ripped than cut when that happens.

So then take the jeans off for the cutting part! And cut them carefully and keep putting them back on and seeing if you are happy with them, remembering they will rip further once you wear them a bit. And that is how simple it is! And I spent a total of 7 pounds.

If this post inspired you to get creative and save some money, send some pictures of your DIY Jeans!

Blogmas 2014!

Hello lovelies! As it is my first ever Christmas blogging I thought it would be great to do Blogmas! I am so excited for Christmas, I am already getting on all my friends nerves singing Christmas songs and wanting to put up the tree as I type this!

My Favourite Christmas Tradition

The one that popped straight into my head that we have done ever since I can remember (and i'm pretty sure it isn't unique or anything, it's just something I like) Every night on Christmas Eve we got to open one present, and mum got to choose which ones. It took us a few years to work out every year it was new pajamas, but now we know what it is going to be every year i'm really excited to see my new Christmas pajamas and sleep in a new cosy onesie or some big tshirt.

Another tradition that sort of stemmed from me is the Doctor Who Christmas special, every year even if we went to friends on Christmas day we'd have to be back in time for Doctor Who, because a couple of years ago I was rather obsessed. I don't watch it as religiously now, but it's still something we enjoy doing as a family.

If any of you want to do blogmas, please do and send me a link to your posts! and comment below your Christmas traditions too!

The British Tag

Hello lovelies! So i saw this and I thought it would be a really cute thing to do (even though you may be surprised at how un-British i am in some cases haha) But here we go...

1. How many cups of tea do you have a day and how many sugars?

This is what I meant by you being surprised at how un-british i am, I actually don't drink tea. (BIG SHOCKER) I only drink green tea, and I don't put sugar in that, I put honey it it. Thats because green tea is a very... acquired taste, and the honey is a natural sweetener which makes it a lot nicer!

2. What is your favourite part of a roast dinner?

Oh god, can i say all of it? no, if i had to choose, the stuffing or yorkshire puddings!

3.What is your favourite dunking biscuit?

Again, don't really dunk them... But i do love bourbons and custard creams!

4. What is your favourite quintessentially British pastime?

Erm, Just the little things we do best i think, going down to local, having brunch, roast dinners!!

5. What is your favourite word?

I sort of go through faces of using words that i like, and my friends just look at me like what? My one right now is probably - Adjacent.

6. Do you know any cockney rhyme slang?

Erm, sorry to disappoint, but the only one i know is up the apple and pears (translation: Going up the stairs)

7. What is your favourite sweet?

Oh dear, another hard one. I'd have to say, only because when i was younger walking back from school we'd all go to the sweet shop with our 20p's and I always used to buy a bag of cherry lips in those little paper bags. Oh the memories

8. What would your pub be called?

The White Rose, purely because i'm a typical pale English girl who really needs to get some sun but doesn't tan and I just think its a really nice British name.

9. Who is your number 1 British person?

The Queen is pretty up there, i'd say.

10. What is your favourite shop and restaurant?

Favourite shop, probably New Look as its fairly cheap and i love their summer range this year. And restaurant... I want to say Go Burrito, but thats not exactly British is it haha.

11. What British song pops into your head?

Seeing as I will have seen them by the time you guys read this! Arctic Monkeys - R U mine?.

12. Marmite?

I know everyone says you either love it or hate it, but I actually just don't mind it.. Sometimes I crave it.

And thats the British Tag!

If you guys want to give it a try, do it! And send me a link, love to see what you guys say.
Thanks for reading!
