DIY: Ripped Jeans

Hello lovelies, just a quick post today that I thought i'd share with you. I'm really into my DIY's at the moment and this one is the easiest one ever!

Recently my friend bought some topshop jeans in the sale, with the ripped knees, which everyone seems to be wearing at the moment. But I didn't really feel like spending 30 odd pounds on a pair of jeans from Topshop. I did find some cheaper ones online but then I never like buying jeans online, I really wanted a pair but I was a bit stuck, until it occurred to me. Something as simple as a rip in the knees is ridiculously easy to do, why are we paying so much for it?

So heres what I did-

You will need:

  • A pair of plain jeans (Old or new)
  • A pen
  • A pair of scissors

I got my jeans from Primark for only 7 pounds and after doing this they are now my favourite pair!
So I sat down with my jeans on so the jeans were quite stretched out, and drew on them with a normal pen (I wouldn't recommend using sharpie as the line will be too thick and might stain). I drew about a 4cm line on each knee right in the centre of my knee cap. This is the important bit, to look in the mirror and check they are even before you cut, I got my friend to double check too, just to be safe. You might think the line you have drawn is too short and you want a longer slit than that, well I did in the knowledge that they will rip a bit more once I wear them and it will look more ripped than cut when that happens.

So then take the jeans off for the cutting part! And cut them carefully and keep putting them back on and seeing if you are happy with them, remembering they will rip further once you wear them a bit. And that is how simple it is! And I spent a total of 7 pounds.

If this post inspired you to get creative and save some money, send some pictures of your DIY Jeans!

Bag Wishlist

Hello lovelies, recently whenever I go into shops I am just totally drawn to the bag section and love looking at them all. So I thought I would do a post with a few of my favorites and what I will be buying (hopefully) in the near future.

1. This is a sort of Céline replica bag which I am loving, and this will most probably be my first purchase. It's just such a classic looking bag. The one I found on Ebay, here, I'm not sure what the quality will be like as it is reasonably cheap (£26.99) but I will keep you posted.

2. The second one is a bag from River Island which is a lovely mint colour with black. I am totally loving mint at the moment and my car I will be getting hopefully very soon will also be mint so I want this to match with all the excitement. You can buy this here for £40.00.

3. Thirdly, another minty/ blue colour, but more pastel. Another thing I am loving right now, everything pastel! I hope they never go out of style. This one is a bargain at £11.95, which you can buy here on Ebay. When I do purchase this I really hope the quality will be good, which is obviously one thing you will be sceptical about.

4. Next, Is a little Ted Baker make up bag. I already have a big wash bag for majority of my makeup but I really want a little one to just keep in my handbag. This one is £22.00 and you can get it online here, but I will probably get it from selfridges or something in the hope of having student discount.

5. I've got a lot of blue and mint bags on my wish list this time and I really like this pink bag from New Look. And it is now on sale for £17.24 online, here.

6. This is another one from New Look, and the one thing that stood out to me on this were the handles. The length of the straps are pretty perfect and not like every bag you see today. I saw this bag on ASOS, here, for £24.99.

5. And lastly, another blue one. Slightly more pricey but I don't own a little bag like this other than clutch bags for going out and I really love the little chain. And for what it is it is slightly more pricey, £39.00. But it is very cute and again from ASOS, here.

And that is my bag wishlist... for now. I will let you know about some of the products from Ebay and if they are good quality. Let me know if you like any of these or what you've found that you love! Thanks for reading.

July Favourites

Hello lovelies, just here to tell you what I have been loving this month!

This is actually my first favourites tag, and it is a bit random! But all relevant i'd say, this month (for England) has been a scorcher! So a lot relate to that.

Number One:

Scrunchies!! I am absolutely loving scrunchies at the moment, in this hot weather they are such a simple and effective way to do your hair. I got this one in the sale from New Look for £1.00 and I will most definitely be starting a big collection.

Number Two:

Now this is a bit of a weird one, as it doesn't exactly look beauty and style. But basically I got REALLY badly sunburnt, after sun and everything just weren't touching it, so i got this! It was recomended by my doctor, but you can just get it from any pharmacy normally. Its called 'Aqueous Calamine Cream' and it has honestly worked wonders. Main thing to do is not get sun burnt, but sometimes it happens, we know that (unlike all the people in the pharmacy that gave me dirty looks and told me 'the answer is to just wear suncream') So if you do, this is what you need!

Number Three:

Everyone loves a summer nail varnish, I am loving this colour from topshop! I love mint green colour in general and have quite a few clothes and stuff with this so that will be why this appeals to me i guess.
As you can see in the picture the colour is actually called 'Gone Fishing' and it is from Topshop (if you don't already recognise the spotty top they always have on their make up)

Number Four:

Recently i've not really been doing much in the way of fancy stuff, I have just been busy with stuff at home or working in the village, therefore I haven't really felt the need to waste my perfume. This is the perfect solution for those kind of days. It's Body Shop's body mist, you can just spray all over your body and it smells amazing just to either freshen up in the hot weather or for when you go out. The one I have is actually a Christmas limited edition one i think, in the scent of cranberry, which i adore! But i would recommend peach, but everyone likes their own thing so go try them all out and find your favourite! They are around £7.50 I think and are very worth it I feel!

Number Five:

Last but not least, my EOS lip balm. My boyfriend actually picked this up for me at Selfridges, but i'm pretty sure you can get them at boots and all sorts. They are amazing, they smell great and are very popular with lots of celebrities. My one is 'Strawberry Sorbet' and its great but there are so many others I want to buy. And they are so handy to just shove in your bag! Think they are around £5.00, but you can buy packs of them and stuff, and this is another thing that i will most definitely start collecting.

And thats my July Favourites guys, hope you've enjoyed them and its inspired you to go try some of these products. Let me know what yours are!

Top Swimwear Picks

Hello lovelies, Today i will be sharing with you my top bikini's I love for this summer as my wardrobe is seriously lacking in these items of clothing.

My first choice is this very cute watermelon print bikini with high waisted bottoms. I really like the look of the high waisted bottoms but if you don't they also have regular bottoms. This bikini is from New look and you can get it for around 25 pounds depending on what bottoms you want. Watermelon print is adorable at the moment, along with pineapples, they would look equally as cute on a bikini.

This one is from Topshop and has another similar bralet style, and i think this is really flattering for any body and bust shape, and i really love the patterns on this. The reason i am mainly going for darker colour bikini's so far is because i am a milk bottle, typically english and don't tan in the slightest! Although i love white bikini's, i think they look so classy... I just can't pull them off, which upsets me greatly. This bikini is £34.00 and you can buy it from here. They also have a very similar one in a reddy burgundy colour which is also very nice.

Moving on to a swimsuit now, i don't think this picture does it justice at all. This pattern is amazing and i love it and although it doesn't look it on the mannequin, i think it would be really flattering. This one is from River Island and is a limited edition. This is £30.00 and you can get it from here online.

Another one from New Look again, and this is in the Kelly Brooke line which i know fits me really well and is really flattering. Plus the pattern is adorable. And thats around £30.00 from here.

There are so many others i could post on here but not enough time i'm afraid, but these are just a few of my faves for summer '14. As i will be purchasing a lot of these i will let you guys know how they are.

Get the Festival look

Hello lovelies,

Now as summer approaches, its getting more and more into the festival season! So i am going to share with you some of my faves for this years festival season.

Now, firstly it is essential to have some kind of flowery head piece! I actually purchased this one from Misguided for only £3.99. This is a look that not many can pull off when not actually at a festival, so good on you if you can!

It's just a really simple headband that will make you feel summery and at one with the festival! You can get these at pretty much any high street store and online at the moment as everyone will be stocking up for whichever festival takes your fancy.

Another favourite accessory of mine for festivals is some crazy sunglasses! I personally love these heart sunglasses as they are super cute and just fun. You can get these here from ebay for as little as 99p! Bargain.

When it comes to what to where, there is either the classic denim shorts and a tshirt which i did every day last time i went, but this year i wanted to explore dresses to wear and what better than a floral dress to make you feel summery!

For festivals, I am obsessed with the daisy pattern at the moment, and i loved this little skater dress as its so simple to just shove on with a pair of wellies! This dress is again from Misguided for £19.99.

With the usual denim shorts i found the cute little bralet which would go with basically anything, if you wanted to add a floral kimono or all sorts. And this is on Ebay for £16.99, here.

Festival season, in England anyway, in not exactly know for its amazing weather, and so us British girls need to be prepared! If you like to do things on the cheap, like myself (when i am a poor student with no job) I think a simple rain poncho will do the job and still look stylish... well as stylish as you can when you look like you are wearing a bin liner! But look around because you can actually get some really funny ones like this 'Egg fried poncho' here

Or if you do have a bit more money to spare, i really love the look of this clear raincoat! This would keep you nice and dry, not too warm and you still get to show off your outfit! This one is from Topshop for £40.00, but if you hunt around you might be able to find some bargains!

As i am going to a festival this year i am looking forward to sharing with you what i am going to take!

Michelle Keegan look book

Michelle Keegan is a soap star on Corrie (although maybe not for much longer!) and although her character Tina doesn't always dress the best, Michelle is another story! She always looks amazing even if its casual or red carpet style! And if you don't know what Coronation street is, you are missing out!

Outfit number 1

This is such a casual outfit that looks great! and you can wear it anywhere, day shopping, on holiday, etc. So the statement piece to this outfit is really the bag, and i managed to find a black version of it from New look. Now the checked shirt is very simple, and you can search for whatever colours you prefer or suit, but i found a similar one to Michelle's here from Blue Inc. Here she is wearing some grey suede boots, and i found some similar ones here, but feel free to search for some!

Outfit number 2

This is more of a date night formal outfit, but looks so sophisticated and stylish. Starting from the bottom upwards this time, the shoes are lovely and that ankle strap is really in at the moment, so i found some more expensive ones here. But as these are in fashion at the moment you will be able to find something similar very easily, like at primark for example. These cigarette cut trousers are really lovely, and i couldn't find an exact match but just a plain black would look just as classic, here. And i found a shirt here with some detail on it which i feel would look really good together with the trousers. And because the top has some detail i found a more simple necklace, here.

Outfit number 3

I found this exact dress here, and this dress is easy to accessorize. The shoes are just a pale pink, salmon colour, and i found some from new look

And i'd also buy some big statement rings to bring more to the outfit, as well as a black clutch bag which are very easy to find, but here is a cheap one from ebay.

Thats all 3 outfits from Michelle, hope you have enjoyed these looks.

Much love xoxo

Pretty Little Liars 'Get the Look'

As i've recently been re-watching all of the Pretty Little Liars episodes, i decided to pick some of my favourite outfits and see what i could do.
I found that a lot of the clothes the girls wear aren't really classed as affordable fashion, so i've picked out a few which i think are very reasonable.

Here is Hanna in Season 4, episode 14.

I love Hanna's fashion sense, she is by far my favourite pretty little liar! She has some amazing outfits, but i picked this one as it is easy for everyone to accessorise in their own way and fairly cheap.

I actually found the exact dress here on Amazon, although it is the american Amazon, and its currently on sale! I don't know how long this item will be on Amazon, so have to keep an eye on that one.

As for accessories, you could really do alot with this dress, maybe add a different colour belt other than black - like this. Or just keep it simple :)
I found a similar necklace, it just doesn't have the same length, but would equally give it that pop of colour, here.

The lovely Emily

Emily has quite a sporty fashion sense, which isn't really my thing, but i chose this outfit because it just SO easy to create, and look how amazing it looks!

You can get any denim skater skirt from any of your favourite shops, but i found this one from Oasis. Now the top, you can get any colour you like and the chances are it will go, whatever you are in the mood for. And if you don't already have one in your wardrobe, any of your usual shops should have a basics range and you should look around there, heres one from H&M (they are also very cheap!) Scarf could be anything really, any pattern you fancy. I have a massive thing for Fat Face scarves, so check them out if you'd like. Thing i love about this outfit is that the main items are so easy to source, and you can accessorize with things that bring out your own personality.

Aria Montgomery in the season four finale

Aria's dress sense is sometimes a little wacky, but Lucy Hale manages to look amazing in anything they shove her in. The season finale is when all the drama kicks off, so a pretty intense episode.

Personally i don't think i could really pull something like this off, but it definitely looks great. The dress which you can see in the picture is covered up a lot of the time in the episode which is a shame, and you can buy that here. The scarf, again is totally something that you can pick to your tastes, but maybe sticking to the blues and maroon tones Aria has in hers. Its not the exact same jacket, but for a good quality one you are looking at a bit more money than one would want to spend, but then again, pairing a leather jacket with any outfit is so easy, so if you don't already have one, i guarantee it will be a good investment. I found a similar version here, but they aren't hard to come by.

Spencer in season 3, episode 3

Now i absolutely love this outfit, and Spencer is sort of like marmite to me, i either love it or hate it. I was actually able to find the exact dress from urban outfitters, but as season 3 was a while ago, unfortunately unless you can find it on ebay or somewhere, its not available. (but if you were wanting to look it is named 'pins and needles strapless lace dress')

I did however find this one which i think is equally as pretty, just doesn't have all the detail on the corset part of the dress. Now the cardigan is plain and simple, and so i'd advise you to shop around and see what you can find, but i found this one from John Lewis. Now the belt, again i'd hunt around for one you really like, but i really liked this one as the dress is quite plain it adds that extra detail. And remember girls, ebay is your friend! so never forget about it.

I think in this episode she also paired it with white knee-high socks and just some black pumps, so feel free to experiment with that!

And thats it for the liars looks. The first of many to come, and i hope this helps find whatever you were looking for.

Much love xoxo
