Superdrug Haul

Hello lovelies, today I spent a little more than I care to admit. But one has to splurge occasionally (or in my case every other week). Today I only have lectures until 11 and so I went into town to do a few bits and bobs. I decided to give my hair a very healthy chop which you can go check out on my Instagram if you want to see that, and I popped into superdrug to literally just look at this one thing and so naturally I come out spending a small fortune.

So the first thing that caught my eye were these real techniques brushes. Now my brush collection at the moment, although I do have a few, the quality is not that great. For ages I have been debating between Real Techniques or Zoeva and I think I did make my mind up and wanted to go for Zoeva, however these were on offer so I dived in and got these. I probably will still get the rose gold Zoeva set but for now these will start off my new shiny collection. The 3 pack of brushes cost just over 20 pounds and include the duo-fiber face brush, duo-fiber contour brush and the duo-fiber eye brush. All of these will come in really handy for my everyday makeup. And the single brush is the foundation brush, I got this as I was worried my current one was just sucking up too much product. That one is usually £8.99 but as part of the offer mine was around £4.50.

Next, I picked up these 3 items. These were impulse buys but I feel they will come in very handy. The first two were the maybelline colour 24h tattoo, these are both cream eyeshadows that I have never actually tried before but I think they give a really flawless and effortless look. I got them in the colour 'pink gold' and 'on and on bronze', these two colours are my favourite colours to wear on my eyes at the moment and will be easy to combine with my naked palette.

I then picked up this Kate Moss Rimmel lipstick. I don't actually own a really red lipstick and the reason this one caught my eye was because it is for Red Nose Day. (If you don't know what that is, here in the UK Red Nose Day is this big charity day where we raise money for charity and there is this big TV thing, its pretty good). And £1.50 of the price of the lipstick goes to this charity. This is something I've always liked to get involved in and so why not do your bit while buying lipstick? It's a win win. The colour of this lipstick is actually called Red Nose Day, and its a really nice shade too!

And lastly, I saw all of Zoella's products sat there looking beautiful and I am actually yet to try the Fizz bar, and considering I left all my new bath bombs and stuff at home and forgot to bring them back to University I thought I'd treat myself and try this.

And that is my little superdrug haul for today, if you'd like me to review or mention any of these products again once i've used them, let me know! And let me know if you've spent a little too much on makeup recently just so I don't feel so bad!

Zoella 'Girl Online' Book Review

Hello lovelies, So today as well as my blogmas post you also get an extra one! I decided this is something that couldn't be incorporated into my blogmas so it gets it own little post. Today I am going to chat about the ever popular Zoella and her brand new book 'Girl Online'.

So I initially was a bit sceptical when I saw Zoe was bringing out a novel, and I thought the book itself sounded a lot like it was aimed at a much younger audience. (me, being 20 years old) But I saw in Waterstones it had 5 pounds off and I thought why not give it a go.

After Girl Online sold more than 78,000 copies in its first week, and becoming the fastest selling debut novelist since records began, I have to hand it to Zoe. She has done an amazing job! The only thing for me was that I was right about the younger audience, however when I was reading, I picture characters in my head my own way anyway so I just imagined them a little bit older. But in regards to writing style, Zoe has actually done a brilliant job - She kept me hooked. Once I started reading and I finished the book in 3 days! Last time I read something that fast I think it was the last Harry Potter book. Now lets go onto all the talk at the moment about it being ghost written... Anyone who watches her vlogs and follows her on twitter will know she went to so many meetings about her book and was very much involved in the writing of the book, of course she got help with it but who doesn't nowadays. It is her first novel she isn't a perfect writer, but with the help of her team she has done amazingly well, I think everyone needs to stop being so negative towards her and her success.

All in all, I think Zoe should be so proud of what she has accomplished, and although I still enjoyed it I do recommend the age is around 14-17 year olds.

Zoella Beauty: Review

Hello lovelies, I know you will have all have heard about this special lady. Zoella. The amazing woman who inspires so many of us today, and as a lot of you will know, a couple of weeks ago she bought out her own beauty range 'Zoella Beauty'. So after searching several Superdrugs as all her products were flying off the shelves, I finally found them!

I purchased the Zoella Soak Opera bath soak & the Zoella Lets Glow candle, mostly because I am obsessed with candles and I haven't had a good bubble bath in years so I felt these fitted me the best. I also wanted to try the Fizz Bar, but anywhere that stocks them must be sold out in seconds, as these were impossible to find.

So I set out by running my bath and I poured some soak opera into the bath, I must admit I went a little bit crazy with it and used quite a bit. And to my delight the bath was full of bubbles within minutes, however to say how much I used, I don't know if it would be full of bubbles if you only used a little bit. As the bath was almost ready I lit my candle for the first time in the hope it would fill my room with a beautiful scent that would hit me when I walked back into my room.

Now on a serious note, i've tried to look at these products completely objectively, as it is very easy to just say how amazing each product is just because we love Zoella so much.

When I hopped into the bath it was very relaxing and smells wonderful, but for me I love my bubbles in my bath and if I were to use what I used every time I had a bath it wouldn't last very long for me. So i'm hoping the next time I used the product it will still give me lots of bubbles but with less product used.

When I reluctantly got out of the amazingly hot and lovely smelling bath, I did indeed walk into my room to be greeted with my room smelling great. However, the scent was fairly weak compared to my Yankee Candle for example and I have read several reviews that say that the smell is not to their taste, but me, I really like it! So I urge everyone to smell before they buy.

Overall, I think Zoe has done an amazing job to create all these yummy and affordable treats for us all to enjoy, you can tell shes put a lot of her personality into these. And for the price of each item I think it is definitely worth it to pamper yourself! You can find the whole range of her products here, on the Superdrug website (and obviously in store too)

What do you guys think of Zoella Beauty products? Post links down in the comments to your reviews, I'd love to read them!

Lips Haul

Hello lovelies, today my lips got spoilt! Only a few purchases but things i've been wanting to try nonetheless.

First stop was Topshop, at the moment they are doing 20% off so I did very well to keep myself in the makeup section and not even look at any clothes! (I genuinely have a shopping problem). But I have heard good things about the topshop makeup and especially the lipsticks so I decided to give them a go. There are so many lovely colours, the same goes to the nail varnish, and I spent ages trying to find my favorites (my friends tried on like 3 outfits in the time it took me to choose) I finally decided on the one from the lips section and I turn around to see more choices of colours of the sheer lips. So obviously I had to indulge in both. I wanted quite light colours as I have a few dark, and I picked a really sweet colour called 'macaroon' in the lips (so it also sounds delicious) which is a lovely pink shade, and then a slightly more orangey pink in the sheer lips called 'play with fire'.
These both retail at £8.00 but as I had 20% student discount I think they were about £6.40 each.

Next I ventured into superdrug, I was actually looking for the new Zoella products to have a little nosey, but it seemed that that superdrug was rubbish and didn't have any! However these little gems caught my eye. I have a few of the baby lips collection but i've actually not tried these before, and they were £2.99 each but with a buy one get one half price offer on. It was a tough choice to just choose two but I settled on 'Cherry Me' and the 'Strike a Rose' from the electro collection. Sticking to the pinkish theme i've carried with my lips on this blogpost.

I'm really impressed with them all to be honest and I can see my collection growing very soon!

Thanks for reading guys,
